Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The Sydney H. L. Washington papers consist of manuscript and typescript letters and notes written between 1928 and 1951, pertaining principally to Washington and Lee genealogies. Included in the collection are several manuscript and typescript copies of Washington’s works, generally incomplete. Private papers, both personal and financial correspondence, 1917-1951, are also included in this collection, as is a series of family photographs, negatives, and printers' blocks.
