This collection contains business papers of Richard Clarke and Sons of Boston, Massachusetts, one of the largest importers of tea prior to the American Revolution. Clarke’s business papers are strongest for the period 1756-1769, becoming thin and scattered until concluding in 1775. Most of the correspondence is in two letter books for 1758-1759 and 1767-1769.
