Scope and Contents
This collection includes nine letters written from Ann Mulheran in Seltanaveeny [Ireland]. Ann had apparently worked for the Welch/Walsh family. Her letters provide news from Ireland, comments about the American Civil War, and her plans to emigrate to Australia. There are also thirteen letters written by Mary Welch's daughter Elizabeth "Lizzie" Welch at school in Sheffield, Mass., circa 1865, and three letters written by her son Frank Welch in 1881.
