Historical Note

Ana Byrd Hall, daughter of Alva and Sophia Errett (Pettigrew) Hall, was born 1852 Jun 22 New York City and died 1924 Mar 20 Stamford CT (at her home "Woodburn Grange"). Ana married 1884 Jun 04 to Albert Clement Hall, son of Dudley Pettingill and Amelia Hibbard (Gregory) Hall. Albert was born 1848 May 06 Saint Johnsbury VT. Their children were: Albert Clement Jr., born 1885 Feb 20 New York City; and Audrey Boistreage, born 1890 Oct 24 Stamford CT. Her husband and two children survived her.Mrs Hall was educated at the Ferris Institute in New York City and was an inspiring amateur musician. She early became interested in Egyptology and genealogical research. She was involved with the Stamford chapters of the American Red Cross, Daughters of the American Revolution and several other genealogical societies. She became a member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society in 1919.The collection was donated sometime after her mother's death by Audrey B Hall (Mrs William Eric) Morrison, daughter of Ana Hall.
