Francis Samuel Drake collection
Scope and Contents
Much of the business portion concerns the compilation and publication of his "A Dictionary of American Biography". In addition, there are notes and correspondence from Drake's work on the Boston Tea Party, and the originial membership of the Massachsuetts Society of the Cincinnati. The collection also holds a small quantity of family correspondence.

Biographical / Historical
Francis Samuel Drake (1828-1885) was a Boston bookseller, biographical cyclopedist, and historian. Much of his work focused on the American Revolution, and the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati.
