Scope and Contents

Genealogical correspondence and research notes on the Munn, Meserve (also spelled Meservey, Meservy), and allied families, particularly those of Carnes, Casey, Clayton, and Webster, 1670-1981. Research on the Meserve, Carnes, and allied families dates from Clement Meserve, who immigrated to Portsmouth, NH from England in 1670. Concluding the collection is correspondence, bills, receipts, and memoranda generated by Munn during his genealogical investigations, 1933-1980.

Biographical / Historical

Earl Carnes Munn was born 1910 Saugus, Massachusetts. He later moved to Boston where he was employed by the Jordan Marsh Company. Mr. Munn was a member of NEHGS.
