Scope and Contents

Consists of three sections. The first, which contains the majority of the documents, is Harold Hibbs' research on Hibbs and related families. This material includes research on the descendants of William Hibbs (1652-1696) as well as related families. Of the 380 allied families represented, the research on the Craft and Ross families is the most extensive. The second section consists of Hibbs descendants in America not related to William Hibbs. Some of the material in this group was contributed to Hibbs by Sylpha Snook. The final section is a group of 22 photographs and 4 negatives of some descendants of William Hibbs and related families.

Biographical / Historical

Harold Reed Hibbs, 1897-1978, was born at Hammond, New York and later lived in Tucson, Arizona. He worked for over thirty years on a genealogy of the Hibbs family in America.
