Scope and Contents

About two-thirds of the collection reflects his genealogical research which centered on Fairfield, Vermont, families, with card files, and focused on the Hungerford family, starting with the immigrant, Thomas Hungerford (ca. 1602-1663), of New London and Hartford, Connecticut. The remaining one-third includes correspondence as the Director of Libraries at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, 1937-1966; as historiographer of the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee, 1945-1967; and notes as the biographer for Bishop Jackson Kemper.
