Scope and Contents
Note by William C. Barney, President of the Barney Family Historical Association:
Unfinished manuscript of about 1500 pages, by Eugene D. Preston (d. 1926).Also includes a general index to the manuscript.
The genealogy starts with Edward Barney (d. 1645) of Bradenham, Buckingham Co., England. It traces his descendants in America from Jacob (1) Barney of Salem, Mass. through 12 generations.
Although many pages are out of order, the general order is by generation, i.e.: First generation: #1,2, 3, 4, etc. ...
The manuscript also included the descendants of brothers Thomas & Daniel Barney of New England (published in the Boston Transcript in 1925 - see Manuscripts/Compilations).
Also are several "unconnected families, and several pages of "unplaced" Barneys.
