Scope and Contents
Fictional story about two characters: Jim Howie and Bob Maxton who, during their return trip to England after World War I encounter an old friend who asks them, as a favor, to sail to Poti, South Russia to pick up manganese and deliver it to Liverpool. During their journey, they notice a problem between the ship's steward and a deck hand because of a dispute over the deck hand's daughter.
